The Memorial Hospital is currently looking for an experienced, enthusiastic and motivated Registered Nurse to join our team as Clinical Nurse in our paediatric ward.
The Clinical Nurse of our paediatric ward is responsible for the provision of safe systems and practices within the boundaries of relevant legislation, professional standards, hospital policies, procedures and guidelines in particular relating to paediatrics patients.

About the role:
Accountable for own practice and contributing to the practice of others in a positive and supportive environment
Work closely with Nurse Unit Manager to facilitate clinical and non-clinical key performance indicators for the unit
Contribute to ensuring optimal patient outcomes and satisfaction through ongoing quality and safety initiatives
Participation in unit and hospital-based committees and quality improvement initiatives
Work closely with medical officers and anaesthetists to ensure optimal patient outcomes
Ensures safe care for patients, adhering to external regulatory agencies and ACHA policies, procedures, and standards of care, within budgetary specifications, including time management, supply management and accuracy of practice; coordinates resource allocation (supplies, staff)
Promote individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education, skills competency; supports department-based goals, which contribute to the success of the organization; serves as preceptor, mentor, and resources to less experienced staff

About you:
5 years’ minimum experience as a Registered General Nurse
Knowledge of the NSQSS 8 National Standards and how they relate to practice
Advanced leadership and negotiation skills
A commitment to a high standard of clinical and customer focused care
Ability to lead staff in manner that is encouraging and supportive
Exposure to dynamic ward environment inclusive of both adult and paediatric patients
Previous experience in senior or TL roles desirable
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong facilitation and coaching skills
Proven ability to effectively manage both human and material resources
Paediatric Life Support Qualifications essential

If you are successful, you will receive a salary based on your years of relevant nursing experience against the current nursing Enterprise Agreement the “Adelaide Community Healthcare Alliance (ACHA) & Australian Nursing and Midwifery Federation (ANMF) South Australian Branch – Nurses’ & Midwives – Enterprise Agreement - 2024 (‘Agreement’ or ‘Enterprise Agreement’)” (salaries range between $56.70 -$60.17 per hour).
